Framed Acrylic Painting on Wood Panel
12" x 12" | 30cm x 30cm
Acrylic, charcoal, pastel, collage, cold wax on wood panel. Framed in a custom solid wood black frame handmade by a local woodworker here in our small town in Northern Italy.
This is the third in a special small series of 3 that are dedicated to someone I love and admire, my son, Harris Reed. Harris is a fashion designer in London and in his own words is “fighting for the beauty of fluidity”. Harris’ design process takes inspiration from the current social and political issues that Reed feels most connected to. The work Reed creates is built from assessing the responsibility that fashion has to spark conversation in relation to the injustices that are happening within society today, yet all while staying true to the brand’s ethos that strives for a vision of gender fluidity and inclusivity.
About my art in general: All of my paintings take me on a journey of discovery through color, light, and deep emotion. Paintings to me are like life, underneath the surface there is joy, struggle, the not-so-pretty, beauty and the path which ultimately leads us to where we are. What we see on the surface is not all that exists and I hope that you will feel the depth and discover something that brings back a distant memory, or something that holds you in this moment to be present in the beauty of this world.
Living in this beautiful Northern Italian town has a great influence on my paintings. The colors, the light, aging peeling paint, winding cobblestone streets, lively people, the river and mountains outside my window, and the absolute overload on all of my senses, in a good way, all play a large part in every piece of art I create.
Original painting is sold framed and ready to hang. Fortunately for me, living here in Italy brings options like finding a small framer who’s handcrafted work is unparalleled.
Shipped via UPS. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery. Shipping charges are included in price.
